What is a heated humidifier?

CPAP devices are often equipped with a heated humidifier to improve patient comfort. Humidification maintains the function of the nasal mucous membranes. The device consists of a heating plate and a water tub. The water is heated to humidify the air you breathe. The humidifier is highly useful for nasal congestion or dryness of the mouth, throat, or nose. The temperature is adjusted to your preference via a thermostat. To prevent condensation in the tubing, the humidifier temperature should be set according to the room temperature.
